The Toolcraft 6.8 SPC Type II Bolt Carrier Group with Diamond-Like Carbon finish is built for AR-15 rifles chambered in 6.8 SPC and other compatible cartridges using the same bolt-face geometry. This full-auto M16-profile BCG combines a 9310 steel bolt with an 8620 steel carrier and a hard, low-friction DLC treatment for smooth cycling, excellent wear resistance, and easier maintenance.

The Type II bolt uses a .125-inch bolt face depth for proper compatibility with modern 6.8 SPC barrel extensions. Toolcraft shot peens and Magnetic Particle Inspects the 9310 bolt for quality control, while a 4140 steel extractor, Mil-Spec extractor O-ring, and triple gas rings support dependable extraction and gas sealing.

The Diamond-Like Carbon finish is one of the defining features of this configuration. Toolcraft’s DLC treatment provides approximately 90 Rockwell surface hardness along with strong corrosion resistance, low friction, and excellent wear characteristics. The slick surface also helps reduce carbon adhesion, making routine cleanup easier than with more traditional carrier finishes.

The 8620 steel carrier uses a full-mass M16 profile to maintain conventional AR-15 cycling characteristics. A 4130 steel gas key is secured with Grade 8 fasteners and properly staked, while an 8620 steel cam pin and 416 stainless steel firing pin complete the assembly.

Type II .125-Inch Bolt

The 9310 steel bolt uses a .125-inch Type II bolt face depth for compatibility with properly matched 6.8 SPC barrels. The same bolt-face geometry is also used by .224 Valkyrie, allowing the BCG to serve compatible builds chambered for either cartridge.

Diamond-Like Carbon Finish

DLC gives this BCG a distinctly different performance profile from Toolcraft’s Nickel Boron and Black Nitride versions. Its extremely hard, slick surface helps reduce friction between reciprocating components, resists wear and corrosion, and makes carbon buildup easier to remove during routine maintenance.

Full-Mass M16 Carrier

The 8620 steel carrier uses a full-auto M16 profile to preserve standard reciprocating mass and dependable cycling characteristics. The carrier also includes forward assist serrations and a properly staked 4130 steel gas key secured with Grade 8 hardware.
