The Timney AR-15 Competition Trigger with the straight trigger shoe and large-pin configuration is engineered for AR-15 lower receivers that utilize Colt-style large pins. This self-contained single-stage trigger module delivers a refined trigger upgrade with a crisp 3 lb pull weight while maintaining simple installation and dependable operation.

Designed as a true 100% drop-in system, the Timney Competition Trigger installs without gunsmithing, fitting, or adjustment. The lightweight aluminum alloy cassette housing keeps all major components self-contained for straightforward installation using the rifle’s original hammer and trigger pins. Timney’s proprietary internal design also helps eliminate pin walkout during operation.

The straight trigger shoe provides a flat, consistent trigger surface preferred by many AR-15 builders for controlled finger placement and repeatable trigger press characteristics. The single-stage design delivers a smooth, crisp, creep-free break with a clean hammer release and short reset. The overall trigger feel is often compared to a precision bolt-action trigger rather than a traditional service-style AR trigger.

Durability and long-term consistency are supported through the use of wire-EDM machined S7 tool steel for the hammer, combining excellent impact resistance with wear durability under heavy use. Additional internal components are EDM cut from A2 tool steel and heat-treated to Rc 56-60. Precision-ground engagement surfaces contribute to reliable trigger operation and a clean, repeatable break.

This large-pin configuration is intended specifically for compatible large-pin AR-15 lower receivers and is not compatible with standard small-pin lowers.
