The Timney AR-10 Competition Trigger is a self-contained, cassette-style trigger upgrade for compatible AR-10 and .308-pattern rifles. This skeletonized model gives large-frame AR builders a clean single-stage trigger press with a factory-set 4 lb pull weight, making it a strong choice for precision-oriented range rifles, hunting setups, and competition-focused AR-10 builds.

Designed as a 100% drop-in trigger module, the AR-10 Competition Trigger installs without gunsmithing, fitting, or user adjustment. All major components are captive inside the lightweight aluminum alloy housing, helping simplify installation while keeping the fire-control assembly contained and consistent. The trigger installs using the rifle’s original hammer and trigger pins, while Timney’s proprietary design helps eliminate pin rotation and walkout.

The single-stage pull is smooth, crisp, and creep-free, giving shooters a cleaner break than many standard factory AR-10 trigger groups. A 4 lb pull weight provides a practical balance for a large-frame AR: light enough to improve trigger control and shot consistency, yet deliberate enough for field, range, and competition use where a predictable break matters.

The skeletonized trigger shoe gives this model a distinctive competition-style profile while preserving a consistent trigger surface for repeatable finger placement. Timney builds the AR-10 Competition Trigger with tool-steel internal components for long service life. The hammer is wire-EDM machined from S7 tool steel for wear resistance and impact strength, while additional components are EDM cut from A2 tool steel and heat-treated to Rc 56-60. Precision-ground engagement surfaces help support the crisp hammer release and dependable trigger feel Timney is known for.

Each trigger is hand-assembled, tested, and calibrated before leaving the factory. This model is compatible with Mil-Spec AR-10, AR 15-22, and .308 caliber platforms using standard small-pin dimensions.
