The Timney AR-15 Competition Trigger is a self-contained, cassette-style trigger upgrade for compatible AR-15 and M4-pattern rifles. This curved large-pin version is configured for Colt-style large-pin lowers and delivers a smooth, crisp, creep-free single-stage pull with a factory-set 3 lb pull weight.

The large-pin configuration is intended for compatible AR-15 receivers requiring large-pin fitment, including Colt large-pin rifles from the 1990s. It is not intended for standard small-pin lowers. For builders working with older Colt-pattern AR-15 receivers, this version provides the correct large-pin setup while retaining Timney’s clean Competition Trigger feel.

The curved trigger shoe provides a familiar AR-style finger position for shooters who prefer a traditional trigger profile. The 3 lb pull weight is the lightest option in the AR-15 Competition Trigger lineup, making it well suited for precision-focused range rifles, varmint rifles, competition builds, and AR-15 setups where a light, clean single-stage break is preferred.

Timney designs the AR-15 Competition Trigger as a 100% drop-in module with no gunsmithing, fitting, or user adjustment required. All components are captive inside the lightweight aluminum alloy housing, helping simplify installation while keeping the trigger assembly contained and consistent inside the lower receiver.

The hammer is wire-EDM machined from S7 tool steel for wear resistance and impact strength, while the remaining internal components are EDM cut from A2 tool steel and heat-treated to Rc 56-60 for long service life. Precision-ground engagement surfaces help support a clean hammer release and the crisp trigger feel Timney is known for.

The trigger installs using the rifle’s original hammer and trigger pins, while Timney’s proprietary design helps eliminate pin walkout without requiring anti-walk pins. Each trigger is hand-assembled, tested, and calibrated before leaving the factory and is backed by Timney’s lifetime warranty.
