Sierra 7.62mm 30 Cal 175gr HPBT MatchKing

The Sierra 7.62mm 30 Cal 175gr HPBT MatchKing is a precision component bullet engineered for handloaders and competitive shooters demanding elite-level accuracy, stable supersonic flight, and reliable terminal performance in .30‑caliber rifles. Featuring a hollow-point Spitzer boat-tail profile, this 175‑grain bullet delivers match-grade consistency, aerodynamic efficiency, and controlled expansion across long-range, target, and hunting applications.

Equipped with a refined Spitzer ogive, hollow-point meplat, and tapered boat-tail base, the 175gr HPBT MatchKing achieves a G1 ballistic coefficient of approximately 0.440. This elevated BC reduces drag and wind drift while enhancing velocity retention—providing tight-group sub‑MOA performance in platforms like .308 Winchester, 7.62×51 NATO, and 30-06 Springfield.

Manufactured to Sierra’s strict component tolerances—175.0 grains weight, 0.308″ diameter, approximately 1.100″ overall length, and a sectional density near 0.260—the bullet maintains uniform jacket thickness, precise meplat alignment, and concentric boat-tail geometry. These characteristics promote consistent seating, stable chamber pressures, and dependable flight behavior under precision handload conditions.

Optimized for barrels with twist rates between 1:10 and 1:12, the Sierra 7.62mm 30 Cal 175gr HPBT MatchKing performs exceptionally at velocities between 2,600 and 2,800 fps. Shooters report excellent wind resistance, minimal vertical stringing, and predictable terminal performance—making it suitable for long-range hunting, precision competitions, and tactical drills.

As a component bullet, the Sierra 7.62mm 30 Cal 175gr HPBT MatchKing gives reloaders full control over powder selection, primer choice, and seating depth—allowing fine-tuned load development focused on trajectory optimization, recoil management, and downrange performance. It is not factory-loaded ammunition but a high-quality Spitzer MatchKing component built for custom precision use.
