The Matador Arms MAT-9 Blowback Upper Receiver is a next-generation 9mm upper built for performance, modularity, and ease of maintenance. Featuring a bufferless, monolithic design and a non-reciprocating charging handle, the MAT-9 is compatible with side-folding setups and delivers a clean, lightweight profile perfect for PCC builders. Designed with Matador Arms’ patent-pending EZTS “Easy Take-down System,” this upper requires no tools for disassembly, making cleaning and maintenance simple and fast.

The MAT-9 Blowback Upper Receiver is optimized for two distinct operating modes. In Native Mode, it can be installed on dedicated AR-9 lower receivers compatible with a wide range of double-stack 9mm magazines, including Glock^®, Sig Sauer^®, Colt^® stick mags, HK^® MP5™, and CZ^® Scorpion™. In Conversion Mode, the MAT-9 can be used with a standard AR-15 lower receiver when paired with the Matador Arms MAG-X adapter, enabling compatibility with Glock^® and Sig Sauer^® magazines.

Built with a tapered, multi-material 4-piece trunnion system, the MAT-9 maintains superior mechanical alignment and durability, even under demanding conditions. The bolt and action parts are made from 4140 nitrided steel for enhanced strength, while the 6061-T6 aluminum receiver is anodized for corrosion resistance. The 7.825-inch 4150 nitrided barrel features a 1:10 twist and 1/2×28 threads, making it suppressor-ready out of the box.

With three M-LOK slots on both sides and the bottom, a full-length NATO 1913 top rail, and compatibility with LRBHO lower receivers, the MAT-9 is ready for any build configuration. Whether you’re running it suppressed or as a compact folding PCC, the MAT-9 delivers unmatched flexibility and reliability for modern AR-style 9mm platforms.
