The Faxon Match Series 16″ Big Gunner 8.6 Blackout 416R SS Bead Blast 5R Carbine-Length Barrel is built for AR-10 shooters who need long-range precision, hard-hitting energy transfer, and efficient weight distribution in a durable and visually refined package. Machined from premium 416R stainless steel, this barrel offers excellent thermal stability, consistent accuracy, and corrosion resistance. The exterior features a bead-blasted matte finish that reduces glare while giving the barrel a clean, professional appearance.
The Big Gunner profile is optimized for strength where it’s needed most—near the chamber—while reducing weight toward the muzzle. This tapering design helps mitigate front-end heaviness without compromising rigidity, improving shooter control and balance in a variety of shooting positions. With an overall length of 16 inches, the barrel delivers impressive velocity for the 8.6 Blackout cartridge while still maintaining maneuverability, making it a great fit for hunting, tactical, or suppressed applications.
Chambered in 8.6 Blackout, the barrel includes a 1:3 twist rate and 5R button rifling to stabilize the heavy subsonic bullets that define the caliber. The fast twist rate ensures energy retention and accuracy across a wide range of projectile weights. The 5R rifling helps reduce fouling and jacket deformation, which enhances long-term consistency and makes cleaning easier. A carbine-length gas system paired with a .875″ gas block journal ensures smooth, reliable cycling with or without a suppressor.
The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 TPI, compatible with a wide range of muzzle brakes, flash hiders, and suppressors. An M4-style barrel extension finished in nickel Teflon NP3 offers corrosion protection and improved fitment with AR-10 upper receivers. Each barrel undergoes magnetic particle inspection and air-gauge testing to confirm precision tolerances and structural integrity.
