The Faxon Match Series 13.9″ Gunner .223 Wylde 416R SS QPQ Nitride 5R Mid-Length Barrel is a compact precision solution designed for shooters who want lightweight handling without sacrificing repeatable accuracy. Precision machined from high-grade 416R stainless steel, this barrel is treated with a salt-bath nitride finish in the bore and a QPQ nitride finish on the exterior, offering a hardened, corrosion-resistant surface and extended service life. The Gunner contour is Faxon’s signature profile, combining the strength of a government contour near the chamber with a pencil taper toward the muzzle. This design improves rigidity under heat while dramatically reducing front-end weight for faster transitions and improved balance.
Chambered in .223 Wylde, the barrel supports both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition safely and accurately. With a 1:8 twist rate and 5R button rifling, it is capable of stabilizing a wide range of projectile weights from 55-grain varmint rounds to 77-grain match-grade loads. The rifling profile reduces jacket deformation and fouling while improving gas seal and downrange consistency. Ideal for suppressed or unsuppressed applications, the mid-length gas system provides optimal dwell time and balanced cycling that helps reduce wear and felt recoil.
