The Faxon Duty Series 12″ Big Gunner 8.6 Blackout 4150 Nitride Pistol Length Barrel is purpose-built for shooters building compact, hard-hitting AR-10 platforms. Whether you’re assembling a suppressed short-barreled rifle or an AR-10 pistol, this barrel delivers the performance, durability, and precision needed for the unique demands of the 8.6 Blackout cartridge. Constructed from 4150 CMV steel and treated with a QPQ salt bath nitride finish inside and out, the barrel is built to withstand harsh environments while offering superior corrosion resistance and surface hardness.

At 12 inches in length, this barrel strikes a perfect balance between maneuverability and terminal effectiveness. The Big Gunner profile is designed to maintain rigidity while minimizing excess weight, helping shooters maintain control and reduce fatigue during dynamic shooting. Weighing just 2.0 lbs, it’s an ideal option for lightweight AR-10 builds where space and weight savings matter. The 1:3 twist rate is specifically engineered to stabilize the heavy-for-caliber subsonic bullets commonly used with 8.6 Blackout, increasing energy delivery on target and optimizing suppressed performance.

This barrel includes an .875″ gas block journal and a pistol-length gas system, ensuring smooth cycling and reliable operation even in suppressed setups. The muzzle is threaded M18x1.5, supporting a variety of suppressors and muzzle devices designed for the 8.6 Blackout. The barrel extension follows the DPMS Gen 1 .308 pattern, ensuring broad compatibility with most AR-10 upper receivers. A recessed 11-degree target crown enhances accuracy by promoting uniform gas release, while magnetic particle inspection ensures the barrel is free from internal flaws or inconsistencies.
