The Faxon Duty Series 11.5″ GUNNER Mid-Length 5.56 Barreled Upper is a purpose-built AR-15 upper receiver assembly configured for suppressed 5.56 NATO use. Instead of treating suppressor compatibility as an afterthought, Faxon combines an 11.5″ GUNNER-profile barrel, mid-length gas system, adjustable gas block, and Plan B-compatible MuzzLok^® flash hider into a compact barreled upper designed around tuning flexibility.

The standout feature is the 11.5″ barrel paired with mid-length gas. Most short 5.56 uppers in this size range use carbine-length gas, so Faxon’s mid-length configuration gives this upper a more specialized suppressor-host identity. When paired with the included adjustable .625″ low-profile gas block, the system gives the builder room to tune around suppressor choice, ammunition, bolt carrier group, and buffer setup rather than being locked into a fixed-gas short-barrel configuration.

Faxon’s Duty Series GUNNER barrel profile keeps the upper from becoming unnecessarily front-heavy while preserving practical strength where it matters. That balance is especially useful on compact suppressed AR-15 builds, where a suppressor can quickly shift weight forward. The barrel uses 5.56 NATO chambering, 1/2″x28 muzzle threads, a .625″ gas block journal, and Faxon’s black nitride finish for a durable, corrosion-resistant surface inside and out.

The suppressor-ready muzzle setup is handled by Faxon’s MuzzLok^® stainless steel Plan B-compatible flash hider with a .250″ bore. This gives buyers a direct path into Plan B-compatible suppressor mounting systems when paired with the correct suppressor hardware. For builders already using HUB-compatible suppressors and Plan B-style mounts, this saves the extra step of replacing a standard muzzle device before the upper is ready for suppressed configuration work.

The upper is completed with a Faxon Enhanced Forged AR-15 upper receiver and a 10.75″ Faxon Streamline aluminum M-LOK^® free-float handguard. The handguard length keeps the package compact while still offering useful accessory mounting space for lights, hand stops, sling hardware, and other common M-LOK^® accessories. The free-float layout also gives the build a clean, modern support-hand area without unnecessary bulk.

This is a barreled upper assembly, not a complete upper receiver group. Faxon does not include a bolt carrier group or charging handle, which makes it a strong fit for buyers who already have preferred components or want to tune the rest of the operating system around a dedicated suppressed 5.56 setup.
