The Faxon Ascent Complete Upper, 10.5” 5.56 NATO Gov Profile Barrel, 9″ Aluminum Handguard – Black is a compact, high-performance upper receiver assembly designed to deliver smooth reliability and versatile function in a short-barreled configuration. The 10.5” barrel is constructed from 4150 CMV steel and finished in QPQ nitride, delivering excellent resistance to heat, corrosion, and wear. With a government profile and 1:8 twist rate, this barrel excels with a wide range of 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington loads, from 55-grain training rounds to heavier 77-grain match ammo. A carbine-length gas system ensures reliable cycling in suppressed and unsuppressed setups, while the standard A2 flash hider provides effective muzzle signature control.
This complete upper includes Faxon’s enhanced forged upper receiver, featuring a built-in tensioning screw to optimize the fit between upper and lower receivers. The included 9″ aluminum M-LOK handguard is lightweight yet rigid, offering a full-length Picatinny top rail for optics and iron sights, along with multiple mounting positions for accessories like lights, lasers, or grips.
Internally, the upper ships with Faxon’s M16-profile bolt carrier group treated with their proprietary Superfinish for reduced friction and improved cleanability. A mil-spec charging handle is also installed, making this upper receiver immediately ready for drop-in use with your compatible lower.
