The Faxon 5.56 NATO 11.5″ Gunner Barrel is designed for shooters seeking the ideal balance of weight, reliability, and performance in a short-barreled rifle or AR pistol configuration. Machined from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium (CMV) steel and finished with QPQ Salt Bath Nitride, this barrel offers enhanced durability, corrosion resistance, and surface hardness. The addition of a Nickel Teflon coated M4 feed ramp extension ensures reliable feeding under all conditions.

This 11.5″ Gunner Barrel is 100% manufactured in-house from premium gun-barrel-quality bar-stock. Faxon puts each barrel through rigorous testing, including Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and individual headspace verification using custom hardened gauges. It’s configured with a carbine-length gas system—ideal for short-barreled platforms—offering a smooth and reliable cycling action.

Just what is the Gunner profile?

The Gunner profile merges the durability of the Government profile with the lightweight maneuverability of the Pencil profile. From the extension to the journal, it maintains the Government taper for strength and heat absorption. From the gas block forward, it transitions to a 0.625″ pencil-thin profile, cutting unnecessary front-end weight to reduce fatigue and increase control. This thoughtful design delivers improved heat distribution while enhancing overall handling characteristics—perfect for duty use, training, or home defense builds.
