The Faxon .308 WIN 16″ Big Gunner Barrel is a rugged and performance-driven option for shooters who want reliable accuracy in a more compact, maneuverable package. Constructed from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium (CMV) steel and finished with a QPQ salt bath nitride treatment, this barrel is designed for strength, durability, and long-term corrosion resistance—inside and out.

This 16″ Big Gunner barrel is 100% manufactured in-house from gun-barrel-quality bar-stock and is subjected to Faxon’s comprehensive quality assurance process. Each barrel is MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspected) to confirm the integrity of the steel and individually headspace checked using precision custom hardened gauges to ensure proper chamber fit and function in your AR-10 build.

Optimized with a mid-length gas system and a 0.75″ gas block journal, this barrel offers smoother recoil and reliable cycling in a shorter profile—making it a great option for hunting, tactical use, or general-purpose precision builds. The M4 feed ramp extension is Nickel Teflon coated to improve feeding reliability in adverse or high-round-count conditions.

What is the Big Gunner Profile?
The Big Gunner profile blends the robust taper of the Government profile from the extension to the gas block with the lightweight Pencil profile forward of the gas block. This smart combination retains strength and heat resistance where it matters most while reducing weight at the front of the rifle to enhance balance, reduce fatigue, and maintain accuracy. The result is a well-rounded profile ideal for dynamic shooting environments.
