The Faxon .224 Valkyrie 24″ Heavy Fluted 5R Match Series Barrel is built for long-range precision shooters who demand exceptional performance and consistency. Machined in-house from 416R stainless steel, this barrel is fully stress-relieved and manufactured from match-grade gun-barrel bar stock. Each barrel is rigorously tested and individually headspaced using custom hardened gauges to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Engineered with 5R rifling, this barrel reduces jacket deformation, minimizes bullet jump, and improves overall velocity—key elements for achieving tight groupings and maximizing ballistic potential. The 11-degree target crown enhances precision by promoting uniform gas dispersion at the muzzle, making this barrel ideal for competition and long-distance accuracy-focused builds.
The aggressive straight fluting not only reduces weight by nearly 16 ounces compared to non-fluted barrels but also aids in faster cooling during extended firing sessions. The QPQ Nitride finish increases surface hardness and corrosion resistance, while the Nickel Teflon coated M4 feed ramp extension improves feeding reliability.
This barrel is configured with a rifle-length gas system and a 0.75” gas block journal, making it compatible with a wide range of precision upper builds.
